I'm Burnin' for You

The limo picked us up at 8,30pm.

Ah. You know it's a good night when that's how it starts :)

I was invited to go see my friend's band play at B.B. King on Friday night by his cousin. I've known the entire family for a very long time and Richie has been interested in music for as long as I could remember. He lives across the street so I always hear when the band is playing at parties and such.

The band that he was playing in on Friday night was one that he'd joined about a year and a half ago. Since I was going with the family, the limo was an added bonus. I thought it was cute that they were so excited about Richie's show, but then I realized it must have been a pretty big deal if he got a show at a famous rock/r&b lounge.

Well it was a pretty big deal. The "new" band that Richie joined was actually an "old", fairly well-known group y'all may have heard of... Blue Oyster Cult. Ring a bell? Haha - yea, it was a pretty awesome night. I'd only known one or two of their songs before this weekend, but I like them.

And in case you were wondering, the limo ride home was just as great as the one in :)

I'm a little sore...

Just a little bit, because yesterday was my first (finally) trip this winter to the mountains to go snowboarding! It's been way too long. I haven't gone since last winter when JJ and I went for the weekend. Yesterday was a lot of fun. I actually went with a few freshman and we had a great time.

Mike and Danny knew what they were doing, so I stayed with them for most of the time. However, on the first run down (which was Lizzy and Will's first run ever), I stayed up with them for a little while to show them a few things. About half way down the trail, they were doing okay and were together, so I told them I was gunna actually snowboard for the rest of the trail and I'd see them when I came back around...

As I was on the lift going back up, I here a guy shout "Holy shit, look at that!". I look, of course, and am hysterical to see a snowboard sans boarder flying down the mountain. It ran over three people before we lost sight of it around the bend, where it was still going strong. We get to the top and I begin to enjoy my first full ride down.

On the way I was on the lookout for Lizzy and Will to see how they were doing. When I'd almost reached the bottom, I finally spotted them, but they were walking down. And they only had one board.

Yepp. So Lizzy had fallen and while she was taking a break on the mountain decided to take her board off. And yes, she didn't grab onto it well enough because it slid away and was far enough away when I saw it on the lift that it was impossible for Will - also inexperienced - to catch it.

I went back down and found Mike and Danny. We went up and tried to look for the board but it was long gone. It either went off into the woods, where it was too dark to see anything or someone took it. $400 later, Lizzy had to pay for the board and her evening was cut short. I felt really badly, but I's also spent the money to snowboard so I tried to - well I did - enjoy the rest of my time on the mountain. I love boarding so much and really had a great time.

That's why I'll be going again in two weeks :)

But um, until then, who can come give me a massage?

Something's wrong with the order...

First crush, first kiss, first love, first time...then first date? Don't know how that ended up happening, but yes, I went on my first "first date" last week. Yes, of course, I've dated people, y'all know I've had boyfriends. However - this was the very first time that someone asked me for my number upon our first meeting and then called the next day to ask me out to dinner. And the first time that at that dinner, the conversation consisted of questions like "What do you do for a living?". I thought it was pretty hysterical and I think that kind of showed.

In any case, I really enjoyed my first New York first date. We went to a nice Italian restaurant where I was not allowed to pay and then to Starbucks for coffee (where I did pay), followed by a walk around Lincoln Square. And - don't tell - but I did invite him up to my apartment for some after-dinner smooching. Yummy.

We followed up a few days later watching Four Brothers - it was okay. Then today, I went to his apartment where he cooked lunch, we "hung out", watched "Shakespeare in Love" and then got dinner. It's so weird and exciting lol. Anyway, I'm enjoying myself. He's adorable - sorry Vicky, I'm still being a five-year-old.

Happy New Year!

Well, New Year's was a week ago, but I haven't been on in awhile. The New Year came and went and I was keeping myself busy at home working and catching up with my friends. I'm back in the city now, hence my return after almost a month.

I saw JJ over my break. Let me update that statement - I kissed JJ over the break. We were at a mutual friend's house and he was a little drunk and, I don't know, we kissed. It was amazing and confusing all at once. Long-awaited and dreaded. Days later, I'm still not sure what to make of it. I want to explain what I think of the situation, but I've never been good at verbalizing my feelings, so I'm at a loss for words here.

One thing I did realize was a correction on what I stated in this post. Boyfriend #2 and #3 were not easier to get for any other reason than the fact that we were able to cut off communication. Okay, #2 was a shit, and I'm going to leave him out of this situation. But the difference between Joe and JJ was that I had to see Joe in school everyday for two years after we broke up. I had to look at him without being able to be with him and see him date other people. With JJ, I haven't been exposed to anything like that. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess? That seems to be true, because it's when he comes back into sight that my feelings change.

Oh! And Timmy, you're a poop. You're welcome.
