My life on half a tank of gas

Some people destress with candles. Others can do yoga. Me - if I need a release, I get in my car and just start driving. I was driving home from work this past Saturday and realized that I had enough gas to make it around the island comfortably. So, instead of driving directly back to my house, I got the expressway and drove around the island in a big circle. It was great.

I'm not particularly concerned about something sepcific, but I am super stressed out. I've just had soo much work to do these past few weeks and I know that's it not going to be over anytime soon. I just want to be able to do everything that I need/want to. And that's a lot. I've got class, I've got work, I've got residents, I've got research. Ack.

But my busy-work is pretty fun and rewarding. Tomorrow, after biochemistry and abnormal psychology exams, I'm going to a microscopy seminar and going to meet one of the professors of the Forensic Biology program over at John Jay. So, that's great. And then I'll continue some of my biochem research on Friday (rather early in the morning though) on fabulous heat shock proteins. THEN on Saturday is the Tara-Lives-on-Her-Own and Has-a-Fabulous-Apartment-in-Astoria Fiesta. I am super excited. It's so nice to hang out with my friends and party without worrying about if there's an asshole for an RA on duty. Unfortunately for him -eh-hem- i mean them, Astoria is outside of their jurisdiction.

A little bit louder now

Taurus: You love people, but too much socializing leaves you feeling drained. It's time to opt out of the mad whirl and settle into some solitude, so unplug all communication devices. Loafing is definitely encouraged.

Soooo - just got back from Emelray's suare - we had a really good time. I was even better than Mike at beer pong, which is quite the feat. I have been socializing a lot. And I amm so drained. My mind has just been all over the place and I haven't been keeping ttack of the things I have to do. I forgot to go to work yesterday - just totally forgot. We were watching TV and at like 6pm, I was just like FUCK!

So it's time to "opt out", huh? Yea, I actually agree a little bit. I've been working so hard to "get everything in". If I'm home overnight I make plans with three different groups of friends, because I want to make sure to see everyone in the twenty hours that I'm on Staten Island. I'm wearing myself thinner and thinner. And now the weekend is half over and I'v e gone out two nights in a row, am getting up at 8am to move Tara :( to Astoria in the morning, and still have so much to do before Monday morning.

But, of course, I'll get it done. I always do. I'll lose my mind just a tad along the way, but I'll do it. Because I never let anyone down. And that's why I'm going mad.
